As a group we collected a selection of existing guides to being a fresher in Leeds and focused on their type and overall design as they shared the same audience as we did. This one in particular stood out as being one we wanted to draw inspiration from. The design being fairly simple meant that it was clear to follow and the typeface was legible. Additionally we also thought using as few colours as possible would benefit the leaflet as it wouldn't distract from the students work.
Other freshers guides that we looked at which helped us worked out colours, layout, how it would be presented and what font(s) to use.
